Today makes 7 years.
Our story began almost 11 years ago, 1997. We met through our mutual friends and Eric was already dating someone else...as was I. We got to know each other through the constant hang outs and weekend fun. I am not sure what really started out relationship, I just remember having a long talk with Eric one summer night about what makes a good relationship. Corny, a little bit. And we agreed on so many things and then from there we were together.
Of course that was just the very beginning that sparked everything. He then left on a mission, I traveled to China and Russia, and went to school at USU and BYU. We saw each other again in 2000 after he returned home from Canada and I from China. We immediately started hanging out again and things seemed to be going good. I went back to school at BYU while he went to USU and we kept hanging out. Although, the relationship did not go where I wanted it to go. Eric felt the need to date around, but keep me around to. I tolerated it for awhile and then finally gave him "the ultimatum!"
I remember excactly the day. We went to Red Robin(where I worked as a busser at the time), sat in my sister's section, and had, "the talk!" I told him we either give us a shot...just us. Or I am done. And he of course made the right decision and said let's try it with just us. Let me mind you that this was after 3-4 months of torture on my end. I was having a real hard time with hanging out with Eric, but not going anywhere. So this was a relief when he gave us a chance.
Then that led to a l year of dating exclusively and then we were married in 2002.
I have enjoyed the 7 (+4) years of knowing Eric. We truly are perfect for each other and I appreciate all the hard work Eric does for our family. He is level headed and strong willed. I look forward to the coming years with him.
