Taylor has not cuddled or fallen asleep on us since she was 2 months old. 10 months ago we learned that she had become an independent sleeper and would just go to sleep if you lay her down in her crib.
Of course I am SO glad I have such a great sleeper and I can just put her down and walk away, but of course you miss those moments when they would fall asleep in your arms. Well that finally happened the other night! Taylor usually goes down about 8:30 and you don't hear a peep until 8:30 am. For some reason she woke up crying around 10:00 pm and started getting hysterical. Usually we let her cry and she falls back asleep. This time is was so sad I decided to go in and check on her. I didn't want her to think she was getting up, so I kept the room dark went in, picked her up and sat in the chair. She sat right up and started looking around. I know I can't lay her in my arms so I tried something different. I sat her in my lap facing me, legs straddling me, and just pushed her head a little on my chest! And Wham! She laid there! She cocked her head back so she could see me and we just sat there. I scratched her back and she just stared at me. It was so great!
Last night she was crying again, and I went is and did the same thing and this time she fell asleep! I couldn't believe it and I didn't want to leave. It was so fun to cuddle with her again. But I realize I can't go in anymore, because she is going to learn that if she cries mom will come. So that is the end of that...but it was so worth it. Love that girl! Thanks for the cuddles!

Finn was sick the past few days, and I was loving it because he wanted to cuddle. It never happens.
maybe it was a bad dream! they are so heartbreaking, but I love the cuddles, too. I'm a sucker!

That is so fun. I enjoy those moments with Cairo too! He is also a good sleeper, we can put him down and he will just go to sleep. I am glad you got a sweet moment with her!
